At Elliotts Castles LTD, we’re committed to providing safe, reliable and fun bouncy castle hire and inflatable rentals for events across the North West. These Terms & Conditions are designed to protect both our customers and our business, while ensuring every event runs smoothly. By booking with us, you agree to follow these conditions in full.

1. General Safety & Responsibility

  • Our inflatables are designed primarily for children under 12 years old and up to 65kg, unless otherwise specified (e.g., adult castles).

  • The hirer is responsible for ensuring all safety rules are followed. Elliotts Castles LTD accepts no liability for injuries unless caused by equipment fault.

  • A responsible adult (aged 18+) must supervise the inflatable at all times.

  • Users with neck, back, heart conditions, or other medical concerns should not use inflatables.

  • Do not allow aggressive, unsafe, or inappropriate behaviour. Group users by age/size for safety.

2. Booking & Agreement

  • By booking (online, phone, email, or in writing) you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

  • All equipment remains the property of Elliotts Castles LTD at all times.

  • Once equipment has been delivered and signed for, the hirer is responsible until collection.

  • We reserve the right to use photographs of our equipment at events for marketing purposes.

3. Delivery, Setup & Collection

  • Please ensure the chosen area is suitable and free from hazards. If equipment does not fit or the surface is unsuitable, full hire charges still apply.

  • Outdoor setups require grass for secure pegging. We do not set up on artificial grass, hardstanding, decking or gravel.

  • Access routes must be clear and wide enough (typically 1m or more depending on equipment). Some large inflatables may require more space.

  • Our team requires on-site parking. Any parking fees or fines are the responsibility of the hirer.

  • Delivery/collection times are approximate and may be affected by traffic or unforeseen circumstances. We cannot be held liable for delays outside our control.

  • A minimum of 30 minutes should be allowed for setup and pack down (longer for larger hires).

  • It is the hirers responsibility to ensure the bouncy castle hired fits in the space they provide.

4. Use of Equipment

  • No food, drink, chewing gum, face paints, glitter, party poppers, silly string, confetti or sharp objects are allowed on or near inflatables.

  • Shoes, glasses, jewellery, and badges must be removed before use. Socks must be worn.

  • Do not climb, sit or hang on walls, beams or safety steps.

  • Smoking, barbecues, and open flames are strictly prohibited near equipment.

  • Do not attempt to move or reposition the inflatable once set up.

  • Ball pits: all balls must be returned at the end of hire. Missing balls may incur a charge.

5. Weather Conditions

  • Inflatables must not be used in heavy rain. If it rains, keep the unit inflated to prevent water pooling at the base.

  • If inflatables become wet, stop use immediately until dry.

  • If using an overnight hire, inflatables must be re-inflated at least 2 hours before collection to allow drying.

  • Never use equipment during inflation/deflation.

6. Wind Speed Safety & Cancellations (Important – Please Read)

The safety of our customers is our top priority. By UK Health & Safety law, inflatables cannot be used outdoors when wind speeds (including gusts) exceed 24mph.

If wind speeds exceed this limit on the day of your hire, Elliotts Castles LTD must cancel the booking for outdoor hires on grass.

In this situation, you will be offered two options only:

  1. 50% refund of your hire cost, OR

  2. Re-booking of your hire for another available date within 12 months.

⚠️ No other refunds, compensation, or alternatives will be offered. By booking, you agree to this condition and accept that safety comes before all else.

7. Liability & Damages

  • Once equipment has been signed for, the hirer is fully liable for any loss, theft, or damage until collection.

    Repair or replacement costs will be charged if the equipment is damaged beyond normal wear and tear.

    A cleaning charge of £100 will apply if prohibited items (such as food, drinks, paints, or similar substances) are used on the inflatable.

    Elliotts Castles LTD is not responsible for any damage to underground pipes, cables, or turf when securing inflatables with stakes (typically 380mm, inserted at a 45° angle).

    Elliott’s Castles LTD cannot be held liable for any damage to property — indoors or outdoors — during the delivery or collection of our equipment.

    It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that adequate access and clearances are available for both delivery and collection. The surrounding area must be open and spacious, free from any obstacles that could be damaged if a bouncy castle were to tip or fall.

    All necessary preparations must be completed prior to our arrival, as our delivery drivers operate on strict time schedules and cannot move obstacles themselves.

    Additionally, hirers must inform us of any known underground services before we secure equipment to the ground using stakes (anchors).

8. Payments & Charges

  • All booking fees are non-refundable.

  • Outstanding balances must be paid before or on delivery (cash, debit card, or BACS).

  • Bookings over £400 may require a 50% non-refundable payment.

  • Late access, incorrect addresses, or waiting time may incur a charge of £25 per staff member per hour.

  • Late Payments

    • To avoid disruption to your booking, please ensure all payments are made prior to delivery.

    • If payment has not been received upon arrival, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and treat it as a refusal of delivery.

    • This policy ensures fairness for both parties and keeps our delivery schedule running smoothly.

  • All bookings over £180 need to be paid 2 weeks prior to hire.

9. Cancellations & Refunds

Rain Cancellations

  • Cancellations due to rain must be made at least 24 hours in advance. In this case, booking fees are forfeited.

  • Rain cancellations are only accepted if the Met Office forecasts rain for the full day (7am–5pm).

If Elliotts Castles LTD cancels due to severe/adverse weather, customers will be offered:

  • A 50% refund, OR

  • A full credit note valid for 12 months.

Rearrangements

  • Date changes may be made up to 28 days before hire.

  • Fees can be transferred once to another date within 6 months.

  • Rearrangements within 28 days or multiple cancellations are not permitted.

Standard Cancellations

  • More than 28 days before hire: booking fee lost (but transferable once).

  • 7–28 days before hire: 25% of total hire fee payable.

  • 72 hours – 7 days before hire: 50% of total hire fee payable.

  • Less than 24 hours before hire: 100% of total hire fee payable.

10. Legal Notes

  • Leisure hire services on fixed dates are exempt from the 14-day cooling-off period under UK consumer law.

  • Elliotts Castles LTD reserves the right to cancel or refuse hire if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.

  • Abusive behaviour towards our staff will result in immediate termination of hire with no refund.
